Birthday Give Away

Tuesday, July 1, is my birthday, and to celebrate, I am giving away a crochet cupcake. It is handmade by me of wool (pink) and acrylic (brown) yarn, stuffed with poly pellets and polyfil, and is the size of a real cupcake. Add it to your birthday decorations, or let your older children use it in pretend play. (Because of the poly pellet filling and seed beeds on top, I would not recommend this for children who still put things in their mouth.)

To be eligible, just leave a comment on this message by late Wednesday night. I will randomly select a name, and hopefully get this in the mail to the winner on Thursday, before the holiday weekend.

Happy Birthday! A day late, but no less heartfelt. The cupcake is too adorable. Is it hard to make?

Thanks for all the kind comments and birthday wishes. I don't feel very talented, but I do like to make stuff. I enjoy the process as well as the end result.

To answer Ashe's question about if cupcake was hard to make: if you can crochet, you can easily make things like this. It's just single crochet done in rounds with increases almost every round. You keep a long tail of yarn when you finish and use the tails to sew the pieces together. If you don't enjoy doing things like crochet, it would be a torturous process!

I have yet to make up a crochet pattern. I find most of them in books, or free online.
