Pardon me, it's still vacation

This came in the mail a few days ago. This is unprecedented. My son is quite shocked and puzzled. He is not amused.

According to his calendar, school, and therefore homework, do not start until Tuesday. It is still summer. He would rather spend these last few idyllic days building a cable car out of Lego and zipping it across the backyard.

My boys built a criss-crossing network of fishing line for lego deliveries all across a section of the basement. At a level that makes it quite difficult for adults to walk through! We finally had them remove it yesterday. No cable cars quite as stylin' (dare I say cute?) as that one, though!

That fishing wire is hazardous! My son had it stretched right across the front of the garage, on a day that my husband rode his bike to work. Husband was running late coming home. I called the kids in for dinner before he got home. Just as my son sat down to eat, he realized he'd better go move that line before his dad rode into it on his bike. He got outside JUST as my husband rode down the driveway. I don't think my husband would have been hurt, but it would not have been pleasant!

I'm just catching up on your blog. Dennis thinks that's cool.
